Malaysia is a small country with big plans – NEM, GTP, ETP. Lump them all together and we get a fantastic result: a developed nation. It is nothing less than a “quantum leap into the future”. These goals can be attained. Just focus on them. It is a journey that all – “the government, the private sector and the people” – must undertake together. This is a terrific script – riddled with holes. The government is standing on shaky ground, the private sector is parking its money elsewhere and the people have grown so wearied of all the lies, injustices and greed that they would rather go their own way than jump on the rickety bandwagon. It is only the emperor and all his court jesters who believe in their own tall tales.
While all the talk is about a better future, it is clear to all that the carrots thrown at the people are mere baits to entice them to vote the same old puffy party into power yet again. The boastful presentations and declarations are a camouflage to distract public attention from the harsh realities of the Malaysian political and social environment. Behind the facade is a grim picture of a society divided into hostile enclaves and ready to take the country down the road to the abyss. Generating wealth and staying united are furthest from their fevered minds. The ideal conditions to turn Malaysia into a flourishing land are simply not there.
Uppermost in the minds of the dominant race is supremacy and not economic prosperity. The doctrine of supremacy is more important than the blueprint of development. Staying at the top of the social ladder is more crucial than seeing the economic pie being shared equally. Hurling threats against others whose forefathers have enriched the soil with their toil and sweat is a more cherished pursuit than carving out the perfect map for growth. At every turn, the cry that filled the land carries with it strong hints of violence. It is as if the battle lines are drawn and all it needs is a spark to set off an inferno.
Politics, and not economics, permeates the life of the people. Worse still, politics, race and religion have become the major theme and a stumblingblock to real progress. Umno plays all three cards with relish and gusto to advance its own agenda and at the same time to browbeat those of other races and faiths. It pays lip service to the gospel of peace and harmony. Its elite leaders will not soil their hands to make a point on race or religion. They leave it to the hot-tempered, emotionally charged supporters to do the dirty job while they stand afar and watch the spectacle with delight and satisfaction.
Tempers are running high. Tension is escalating given that both sides are sharpening their electoral weapons for the battle ahead. Umno (forget the other lifeless partners) will turn up the heat with its dangerous political gameship and may even throw caution to the wind in its lust for power. The country is feeling the jitters knowing that a party desperate to hold on to its seat may whip up an all-consuming storm that will destroy everything in its path. In this state of chaos, not even the opposition can hope to stay alive. It too will be reduced to ashes. These are scary prospects and not even the opium of development can do much to soothe frightened minds.
The journey to economic prosperity cannot start against a background of political brinkmanship, religious fanaticism and racial bigotry. While the country is becoming a seething cauldron of passion and emotion, it is near impossible to be level-headed and hardnosed about taking the economy to the next phase of transformation. It is pointless to expound on the merits of all those economic programmes when conditions on the ground are not conducive to their advancement. But Umno does not see it this way. In the threat of chaos, Umno sees opportunities to make money. In the shadow of fear, it sees potential for beating people to submission. In the miasma of gloominess, it sees a means to keep the country in thrall.
Economic models cannot be built on sand. They cannot be created out of false hopes. They cannot be plucked out of bad dreams. They must be constructed on solid foundation. They must be supported by cold facts and figures. They must take into account public sentiment which is anything but pro-development. The mood of the people is turning ugly, especially those rallying around the flagpole of supremacy. The supremacists are not bothered about planting the seeds of prosperity to earn higher income. They are more concerned with making sure other races do not stand taller than them. They are baying for blood. Umno is not helping to douse the fire but fuelling it with its virulent attacks on the opposition. The upshot? NEM, GTP, ETP will all go up in smoke.

White Rajah, White Paper, whitewash
NEW The “White Rajah” of Sarawak had the audacity to pull the wool over the people's eyes when he sanctimoniously proclaimed that he supported a move to publish a White Paper to punish “naughty people” who caused trouble in his scarred kingdom. The all-important paper would presumably detail the misdeeds of the outsiders who came to Sarawak to disrupt public peace and order. They would inevitably be branded a threat to state security and swiftly thrown out. All these so-called instigators have no business to disrupt the activities of Taib Mahmud. Leave him alone. Let him continue his rapacious work. Let he and his cronies pillage the treasury uninterrupted. Let he and his family members milk the land without pause.

In 1962, they came out with such a report to tell the local inhabitants of Sarawak (still then a British colony) the benefits they would enjoy if they linked up with the peninsula to form the Federation of Malaysia. Better inside the federation than outside where “predatory alien neighbours” like Indonesia lay in wait. The “White Tuan” told the brown people: “Malaysia is good for you.”
After wide-eyed Sarawak joined the federation, another White Paper popped up a year later and this time it was all about the threat of militant communism. The government raised the red flag warning that the diabolical Communist Party of Malaya was coordinating violent activities from the Malaysia-Thai border. If the flame was not doused in double quick time, it would eventually engulf the peninsula and consume Sarawak as well. Then again in 1966 the government released yet another White Paper specifically aimed at Sarawak. Once again, it was all about the menacing Red tide growing stronger with the emergence of the Sarawak United Communist Front. There was no way the fledging state could counter the menace. So the Malaysian government argued in the White Paper that it was its solemn responsibility to protect its “child” from this marauder. People were probably swayed by this sales pitch: Sarawak would perish without its big brother.
But what in the world is Taib trying to do with his White Paper? His White Paper is different. His White Paper is to whitewash his misdeeds and tell bare-faced lies. He wants to punish mischief makers for sniffing out his bulging pocket. He wants to penalise all those extremists who went to the extreme of laying bare his ill-gotten gains. The whole world now knows the sordid tale of the “rape” of Sarawak. He certainly put in years of hard work to develop not Sarawak but his property empire. He has been feasting on Sarawak for 30 long years. He has reduced the state to a pauper. No mainstream media in the state or in the peninsula dared expose his dark reign. Then came the alternative media and Taib suddenly found himself a weakened ruler. He has no where to hide except in a White Paper.
His White Paper is his defence, his last hope of saving himself, his family, his Cabinet cronies from a thump. It does not matter if there are no communists in the bush, in the cupboard or under his bed. Just label all members of the opposition, individuals, organisations and alternative media as extremists and hey presto, they become a threat to the “unity, peace, harmony, tranquillity and the security of Sarawakians”. This line of argument is silly. It does not hold water. People who take the wraps off corrupt leaders are not bad people. People who surreptitiously enrich themselves and let the state go to the dogs are bad people. People who speak up against the greed of the leaders are not naughty but brave. People who seek change are not troublemakers but concerned citizens who do not want Taib and his clique to continue abusing the state.
It is always the governments that produce a White Paper if something serious crops up or had come to pass. But this cannot be the definitive answer. It is always one-sided because the information comes from only one source. The White Paper can be slanted to suit the taste of the government. It can be used to burnish the government and tarnish the opposition. It can be misused to prop up a shaky state. It can be a cover for buying over the sympathy of the people. It is time the people of Sarawak wrote their own White Paper and told the truth: “Taib is not good for you."

what men want in women..
Actually, Deep inside the heart of every man is a secret wish to be trusted. How many times have men said to their wives, "If you would just trust me." Many men wonder why it seems so difficult for their wives to do something so seemingly simple. The answer stems from the physiological differences between the sexes.
It begins at birth when little boys are given a distinct physical advantage over little girls by having higher levels of testosterone. With testosterone comes the physical strength to both defend themselves from danger and/or run away from a threat. Most little girls don't have that ability. They don't have the strength to defend themselves in a physically fight when they feel threatened. If a boy trusts someone who in turn hurts them, they can always defend themselves physically (or try to). Little girls don't have that physical option of power. Since a person can only trust from a position of strength, those same little girls will grow up into women who naturally have a more difficult time "trusting" when they feel vulnerable.
So men, when you ask the woman of your choice to simply "trust you," it's not that she can't, she's just more vulnerable than you. If you want her to trust you, she needs something that will help develop that trust.
Perhaps even a tool or gesture that she can "count on " until that trust with you is established. Thankfully this tool already exist and is known every woman. What cultivates trust in a woman is a man who consistently keeps his word. Making a promise is meaningless if there is no follow through.
A woman needs to SEE her man fulfill his promises because seeing is always more powerful than hearing. Allow me to illustrate. Imagine someone told you that I was the meanest person they had ever met. For months all you heard was how terrible I treated my family and friends. Then one day you met me and during the course of our meeting you begin to notice that I didn't seem to be as horrible as you were led to believe. I actually appeared to be rather pleasant.
Would you change your entire opinion about me from one visit? Probably not!
However, if you saw me respond consistently with kindness and humility over a period of weeks, your opinion of me would begin to change. A paradox has just been established. The kindness you have seen in me for the last few weeks does not match what you have heard about me.
All the rumors of how mean I am begin to fade into darkness because of my consistent actions. Over time what you see will replace most if not all of your concerns about my character.
Men, when the woman you love sees your words lining up with your actions, trust will naturally follow. When you don't keep your word it causes your wife/girlfriend to become fearful. From her perspective, she has entrusted you with her Heart and WANTS to trust you. She simply needs your help in giving you what you want.

Let Musa tell his story
NEW Now that Musa Hassan has exchanged his uniform for civilian clothes, he is no longer beholden to his political masters. But his job is far from over. He has one last task to complete. Musa dropped a bombshell when he spilled the beans about third-party interference in the work of the police force. So his duty to the nation is clear-cut: tell the people what transpired at Bukit Aman when he was the Inspector-General of Police. He levelled serious allegations against his former employers and he must stand in the court of public opinion or law to give his evidence. He has created a storm which will not subside until the truth is out.
However, he will not have an easy time. It is very likely he will be stopped in his track. His ex-bosses are not above resorting to dirty tricks to silence him if they have to. He may face charges of wrongdoings and may end up behind bars – and the “secrets”, if any, will never be known. But one would like to believe that Musa will not buckle under pressure. He fought many criminals when he was the top gun; he must display the same level of courage to meet his new opponents who are more powerful, devious, dangerous.
A persistent question that cropped up when Musa stirred up the hornest' nest is: why now? The answer is simple: before, he must obey the government; now, he obeys his conscience. While in uniform, his sole duty was to carry out orders. He might not like what he was told to do, but his was not to argue. He might be armed but the government called the shots. Under his tenure as the top law enforcer, many unpleasant events took place for which he must take the blame. But he could not be acting on his own. Every decision must have the imprimatur of his political paymasters. Musa was a mere cog in the gigantic bureaucratic wheel.
The government may be a potent force but the “most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire”. Musa is on fire now. He has hurled a thunderbolt at his former employers in the first shot of what could be a long, bruising fight. The odds are staked against him. Two powerful cousins stand in his way. Two men who could be his undoing. Two politicians who can open or close files at will. Very likely the duo will move fast to forestall the impending attacks. Especially if the former “servant” was privy to some horrible secrets. Shorn of protection, the civilian Musa can expect concentrated fire with little hope of rescue. The only insurance against unfair treatment will be the eternal vigilance of the people.
Was Musa being “ungrateful”? The implication is he should keep his trap shut because the government had been so kind to him. Every month he got his morsel of food on his table, with perks thrown in as befitted his rank. He was well taken care of. He should thank his lucky star that he got the top job. He just had to stay obedient and carry out orders on the double. No questions asked. Down the years, Musa might have exhibited some streaks of independence and might have pushed for some reforms, with little success.
But Musa is probably no angel himself. He was harshly criticised in some quarters who believed “he should never have been appointed the nation's top dog in the first place”. Many remembered his dubious role in the Sodomy I trial. Others blamed him for the high crime rate. Some even discovered his purported links with the underworld. He was reportedly miffed at the decision of his boss not to renew his contract for the third time and thus turned sour. Finally, when he had to be put out to pasture, it was good riddance to a “bad cop”. Now comes his explosive revelations, with all their ramifications.
The truth is hidden somewhere. Musa has drawn first blood. He must expect a rapid counter-punch from his enraged employers. The fight will be nasty: Musa will not be let off easily. He will be thoroughly discredited. His “criminal” past, if proven, will be his undoing. But if this tough crime-buster stands on solid ground, and can furnish proof that something rotten is eating into the vitals of the police force, it would at least do the country some good. At a time when the image of the law enforcers is nothing to shout about, Musa's last task will go a long way to help make the men in blue a force to be reckoned with and not despised. Its realy a sad day for me.....my beloved 5 years old dog( Shih Tzu Mix breed )died today morning.Unfortunately in the past four days he was suffer with arthiritis pain. yesterday he began to get worse and started to cry the whole day.hmmmm today i buried him out side of my house and my tears flow like rain,even now....
It’s like losing some part of my life.uknow he was just the most amazing companian to me.

My people, my enemy
NEW Malaysia is not facing an external threat. Our military force need not flex its muscles or be put on red alert. Our neighbours do not pose a danger to us. But yet the menace is there: it is not coming from outside; it is originating from inside the borders. The peril we face today is the result of our own doing. The opposing armies are politicians of various badges. Throw in the religious bigots, racist madcaps, wacky supremacists and the pot is ready to boil over.
Judging by all the strident noises made, the situation is getting out of control. It is reaching a pitch of hysteria as overt and covert intimidations are made. A partisan newspaper is adding more fuel to the fire and the government itself is creating a climate of fear with its repeated resurrection of the May 13 ghost. Even the schools have become breeding ground for intolerance and hatred. Some may think it is all posturing, especially with the next general election looming. Others may dismiss the clash of tempers and raw emotions as mere play-acting, which will end in goodwill and handshakes. The incontrovertible fact is, the threat of civil strife is real and ever-present.
Our boast is Malaysia is a good lesson in racial harmony, political stability and religious tolerance. This is true except that it sounds hollow. It rings false when bull-headed politicians throw principles out of the window, when die-hard extremists issue threats of retaliation in defence of failed policies, when parochial-minded racists cast slurs with impunity, when obnoxious supremacists flaunt their repulsive doctrine without a care for others who have humbly toiled to build the country to what it is today.
The faces of an important segment of the population have become so hideous to the dominant race that they want them all to go back to their ancestral motherland. They think that this broad, sunlit land has no place for so-called “passengers”. If they had their way, they would like to do what many countries the world over had done with horrendous effect – ethnic cleansing or genocide. Numerical strength has bred in them so much arrogance and insolence that co-existence has become an alien, repugnant political vocabulary. They would rather shed blood than smoke the pipe of peace.
The government knows the tension is palpable. Unfortunately, it relishes the prospect of seeing the country careening down the slope. Why? Simply because keeping the country on the edge of the precipice will work to its advantage. By playing on the anxiety of the people, it can prolong its stay and go on feasting on the wealth of the country. With uninterrupted hold on power, comes the licence to browbeat the opposition, to cow the other races, to force through draconian laws. In all those 50 long years, the country had witnessed many tumultuous events – the shout of freedom, the war of the running dogs, the Crush Malaysia campaign, the race riot, the infamous Operasi Lalang, political tsunami – some were defining moments, some a blot on the record. Some were credible threats, some an excuse to muffle dissent.
A defining moment must be an indelible event that will turn the country around to a better future. We do not see this promise on the horizon. We only see the dark shadows of warrior politicians. Yet again, the politicians – elected to preserve, defend, and uphold the rule of law – joined by the sons of the soil and right-wing extremists, are raising a war cry, and their enemies are their fellow citizens: “passengers”, “sweaty, unclean children”, downtrodden minorities, deprived students, political allies, church-goers; in short, all and sundry who do not enjoy special privileges. Yet again, the rabble-rousers are giving dark hints of igniting a bigger fire as if they are seeking the Final Solution. Yet again, one domineering ethnic group wants to stand tall on the bones of fallen citizens.
No one cares to stop and spare some thoughts on the consequences of another outbreak of violence. No one wants to sit down and listen to the voice of moderation and common sense. No one wants to take the highway to peace and reconciliation. All are blinded by the virulence of their loathing for their own people. All want to teach a lesson merely to drive home some dubious message. All seek to destroy the ideals of the founding fathers. With one shrill accord, the so-called master race and their respresentatives have issued a clarion call for action -- against their own citizens. But the choice Malaysia faces today is stark: Build the country together, or destroy the country together. Then again, in the fight to the finish, there will be no winners, no losers.

Even the schools have become breeding ground for intolerance and hatred. Some may think it is all posturing, especially with the next general election looming. Others may dismiss the clash of tempers and raw emotions as mere play-acting, which will end in goodwill and handshakes. The incontrovertible fact is, the threat of civil strife is real and ever-present.
Our boast is Malaysia is a good lesson in racial harmony, political stability and religious tolerance. This is true except that it sounds hollow. It rings false when bull-headed politicians throw principles out of the window, when die-hard extremists issue threats of retaliation in defence of failed policies, when parochial-minded racists cast slurs with impunity, when obnoxious supremacists flaunt their repulsive doctrine without a care for others who have humbly toiled to build the country to what it is today.
The faces of an important segment of the population have become so hideous to the dominant race that they want them all to go back to their ancestral motherland. They think that this broad, sunlit land has no place for so-called “passengers”. If they had their way, they would like to do what many countries the world over had done with horrendous effect – ethnic cleansing or genocide. Numerical strength has bred in them so much arrogance and insolence that co-existence has become an alien, repugnant political vocabulary. They would rather shed blood than smoke the pipe of peace.
The government knows the tension is palpable. Unfortunately, it relishes the prospect of seeing the country careening down the slope. Why? Simply because keeping the country on the edge of the precipice will work to its advantage. By playing on the anxiety of the people, it can prolong its stay and go on feasting on the wealth of the country. With uninterrupted hold on power, comes the licence to browbeat the opposition, to cow the other races, to force through draconian laws. In all those 50 long years, the country had witnessed many tumultuous events – the shout of freedom, the war of the running dogs, the Crush Malaysia campaign, the race riot, the infamous Operasi Lalang, political tsunami – some were defining moments, some a blot on the record. Some were credible threats, some an excuse to muffle dissent.
A defining moment must be an indelible event that will turn the country around to a better future. We do not see this promise on the horizon. We only see the dark shadows of warrior politicians. Yet again, the politicians – elected to preserve, defend, and uphold the rule of law – joined by the sons of the soil and right-wing extremists, are raising a war cry, and their enemies are their fellow citizens: “passengers”, “sweaty, unclean children”, downtrodden minorities, deprived students, political allies, church-goers; in short, all and sundry who do not enjoy special privileges. Yet again, the rabble-rousers are giving dark hints of igniting a bigger fire as if they are seeking the Final Solution. Yet again, one domineering ethnic group wants to stand tall on the bones of fallen citizens.
No one cares to stop and spare some thoughts on the consequences of another outbreak of violence. No one wants to sit down and listen to the voice of moderation and common sense. No one wants to take the highway to peace and reconciliation. All are blinded by the virulence of their loathing for their own people. All want to teach a lesson merely to drive home some dubious message. All seek to destroy the ideals of the founding fathers. With one shrill accord, the so-called master race and their respresentatives have issued a clarion call for action -- against their own citizens. But the choice Malaysia faces today is stark: Build the country together, or destroy the country together. Then again, in the fight to the finish, there will be no winners, no losers.

The White Rajah and his business empire
NEW When the wealth of Sarawak Chief Minister Taib Mahmud was exposed to public viewing, the reaction was one of utter disgust. How could a political animal earning RM20,000 a month amassed such a colossal fortune? Where did he get all the extras? Was his massive business empire built on legitimate foundation? Or was it all ill-gotten gains? Of course, where he gets his money and what he does with it is his private affair. But when a person holds a high public office, he is no longer in control of his personal domain. It becomes public property and thus subject to scrutiny. If a person has nothing to hide, he has nothing to fear. Only when he covers his misdeeds, is he open to censure and even trial.
The most disturbing aspect of the whole sordid affair is that Sarawak, the largest state in Malaysia, is still mired in poverty while the man controlling its destiny is fabulously rich. The Land of the Hornbills was once ruled by the White Rajahs whose paternalistic reign lasted for 100 years. In all those years, the indigenous people were protected against exploitation. Then came eventual independence in the larger Malaysian federation. And now comes another White Rajah who has been around for nearly 30 years. In that period, he grew powerful and became well-heeled. He ruled the state like as if it is his fiefdom. No one dared stepped on his toes, not even the federal masters, past or present.
But Taib is not living in the Stone Age. An intrepid news portal, The Sarawak Report, was all this while probing into his wealth. It followed his trail of affluence and discovered, to the horror of the public, the source of his minted money: he and his family members owned an “overseas business empire worth billions of ringgit”. When the pot of gold was unearthed, the White Rajah hit the roof and wanted the public to believe it is all lies. But the documented proof is solid and indisputable. It is pointless for him to claim innocence: the whole world knows his billionaire status. A public figure cannot run and hide in a hole and expect the storm to blow over. It won't.
The tempest is still raging. The White Rajah must explain to quell the growing anger. He must speak the truth or resign on moral grounds. But he chose to keep quiet. He gives the impression that he is in total control of the situation. In the absence of his side of the story, the allegations against him stand: he made his pile from land, forestry, and palm oil concessions. Most of the projects went to his family members and cronies. They all became rich while the indigenous population – Melanaus, Ibans, Bidayuhs, Penans – continues to wallow in misery. The White Rajah stays in a palatial mansion but the indigenous people have to fight to keep their ancestral lands. In many encounters, they lost out to the combined might of the police, army and timber merchants. Taib does not want to share his wealth with his people. He does not want the natives to block his “rape”of the virgin environment.
Sarawak is rich in natural resources. Taib knows it. The people know it. But what Taib did not want the people to know is his plundering of the state's wealth. For 30 long years he has been the master of all he surveys. During all those years, he could have used his power to enrich the people. Instead he enriched himself. He did have his dream. He told the people about his vision: he wanted to make Sarawak the richest state in Malaysia by 2030. Which means he wants to stay around for another 20 years. God forbid.

Price hikes can make a country sick
NEW At the stroke of midnight, a “thief” crept into the homes of all Malaysians while they were sound asleep. He did not intend to steal their material possessions. He did worse – he left a note on their breakfast table, which shook them up the next day. They read: “Sugar up! Petrol up! Diesel up! Natural gas up!” Unbeknown to them, the man who stays in Putrajaya was working overtime on this piece of bad news and had surreptitiously delivered the blow at a time when most people are in slumber land. But some got wind of his secret intention – they rushed to the petrol stations and joined the long queue to fill up their tanks.
Yes, the prime minister had hinted sometime ago that the people must be prepared for subsidy cuts and the consequent side-effects. Even one of his ministers had warned that the country would go bankrupt if the subsidy crutch is not removed. The leaders were softening us up before moving in for the kill. But the timing of their “attack” was heartless. With Hari Raya around the corner, they dropped the bombs and snuffed out the lights of joy.

We have no quarrel with the government's aim to save money from the subsidy cuts. The savings is huge – RM750 million a year. But the government has not been thrifty with its spending. Billions of ringgit had gone down the drain because of mismanagement and the greed for money. Even the RM750 million will disappear into the black hole in no time. Trimming down the subsidy fats is not the answer to a strong and healthy nation. The millions saved will not make us leaner simply because a spendthrift government, long in power and awashed with so many sins, cannot and will not change its bad ways.
When the New Economic Model was thrust onto the public stage, there was general consternation. The new-born baby was not even brought to parliament for a ritual of debate and confirmation. It came into the world bawling for attention but the citizens paid little heed to it. Likewise, there was no debate about the intended price hikes or consultation with the man in the street. Instead, the whole bundle was dumped on us with the cynical remark that a rise in the price of sugar will set you free from the clutches of diabetes. It is not a sweet reasoning; it is ludicrous and ill-thought.
In a democracy, nothing must be kept in the closet. All matters of national importance must be aired openly. Everyone has the right to know what is good for them. But the prime minister of Malaysia wants to operate deep down the bunker where plans are forged on the anvil of secrecy. It seems that there is an official price schedule kept closely to the premier's chest in which is laid out plans for additional increases in the price of sugar, cooking gas and other consumer products. Why isn't the prime minister telling us about it? Why keep mum when he knows full well that inflation rates will soar if he continues with another round of price hikes?
Malaysians are a mature lot. It insults their intelligence when spurious arguments are used to advance a national agenda. It angers them when steps are taken in a cloak-and-dagger manner. It riles them when leaders talked with a forked tongue as they mould the destiny of the country. Ordinary people who daily wage a battle to survive may not understand the complexities of economic management, but they do feel acutely the effects of ill-conceived plans. It is not rocket science to know that when prices go up, the country is in deep trouble. Then the prime minister cannot tell the people to eat bread because the price of a loaf is too high.

அல்லாஹ் யாருக்கு சொந்தம்?
மலேசியா உச்ச நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு ஒரு விசித்திரமான வழக்கு வந்தது. கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் "அல்லாஹ்" என்ற சொல்லை பாவிக்கலாமா? என்பதே அந்த வழக்கு. மலேசியாவில் முஸ்லிம் அல்லாத பிற மதத்தவர்கள் "அல்லாஹ்" என்ற சொல்லை பாவிக்க தடை இருந்தது. மலே கத்தோலிக்கர்களின் பத்திரிகையான "ஹெரால்ட்", அந்த தடையை மீறியிருந்தது. குறிப்பாக மலே மொழி பேசும் கிறிஸ்தவ சிறுபான்மையினரை பிரதிநிதித்துவப் படுத்திய அந்தப் பத்திரிகை நீதிமன்றுக்கு இழுக்கப்பட்டது. வாதங்களை விசாரித்த நீதிபதி, அல்லாஹ் என்ற வார்த்தையை கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் பயன்படுத்தலாம் என தீர்ப்பளித்தார். இஸ்லாமிய மத அடிப்படைவாதக் குழுக்கள், தீர்ப்பை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள மறுத்தன. "அல்லாஹ் முஸ்லிம்களுக்கே மட்டுமே சொந்தம்." என உரிமை கொண்டாடின. கோலாலம்பூர் நகரில் சில கிறிஸ்தவ தேவாலயங்கள் எரிக்கப்பட்டன. தேவாலயங்கள் மீதான வன்முறையை எதிர்ப்பதாக கூறிய மலேசிய பிரதமர், "அல்லாஹ் மீதான தடையை" ஆதரித்து பேசினார்.
அல்லாஹ் என்பது முஸ்லிம்களின் கடவுளை (மட்டும்) குறிக்கும் என்று தான், பிற மதத்தவர்கள் அப்பாவித்தனமாக நம்புகின்றார்கள். சில முஸ்லிம் பாமரர்களும், மத அடிப்படைவாதிகளும் அல்லாஹ் என்ற வார்த்தையை ஒரு முஸ்லிம் மட்டுமே உச்சரிக்க முடியும் என வாதிடுகின்றனர். இது ஒரு வகையில் "இறைவனைத் தவிர வேறெந்த இறைவனும் இல்லை" என்ற திருக் குர் ஆனின் அடிப்படைக்கு முரணானது. "இறைவன் ஒருவனே" எனில், அது உலகமாந்தர் அனைவருக்கும் பொதுவான இறைவனையே சுட்டி நிற்கும். அது போலத்தான், "அஸ்ஸலாமு அழைக்கும்" (உங்களுக்கு சமாதானம் உண்டாவதாக) என்ற அரபு சொற் தொடரையும் முஸ்லிம்கள் மட்டுமே கூற வேண்டும் என அடம் பிடிப்பவர்களைக் காணலாம்.
இஸ்லாமிய மதம் அரபு மொழியை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது. திருக்குர்-ஆன் அரபு மொழியில் மட்டுமே கற்பிக்கப்படுகின்றது. (மொழிபெயர்ப்புகள் இருந்த போதிலும், இஸ்லாமிய மாணவர்கள் மூல மொழியிலான அரபிலேயே படிக்கின்றனர்.) இஸ்லாமியப் படையெடுப்புகள் ஈராக் வரையிலான மக்களை அரபு மொழி பேசுவோராக மாற்றின. இருப்பினும் ஈரானுக்கு அப்பால், அரபு மொழி மத அனுஷ்டானங்களுடன் மட்டும் நின்று விட்டது. சாதாரண மக்களின் பேச்சு மொழியாக மாறவில்லை. இருப்பினும் முஸ்லீமாக மக்கள், சில அரபுச் சொற்களை தமது பெயர்களிலும், அன்றாட பேச்சு வழக்கிலும் சேர்த்துக் கொண்டனர். அவ்வாறு தான், அல்லாஹ் என்ற அரபுச் சொல், முஸ்லிம்களின் கடவுளைக் குறிக்கும் என்ற தப்பபிப்பிராயம் தோன்றலாயிற்று.
தமிழர்கள் "கடவுள், இறைவன், ஆண்டவன்" என்று சொன்னார்கள். சமஸ்கிருதக்காரர்கள் "பகவான்" என்றார்கள். ஆங்கிலேயர்கள் "God " என்றார்கள். பிரெஞ்சுக்காரர்கள் "Dieu " என்றார்கள். அவ்வாறே அரபு மொழி பேசுவோர் "அல்லாஹ்" என்றார்கள். அரபு மொழியில் "இலாஹ்" என்ற பெயர்ச் சொல்லுடன், அல் என்ற விகுதி சேர்ந்து அல்லாஹ் என்றானது. அது இஸ்லாம் மதம் தோன்றுவதற்கு முன்பிருந்தே பாவனையில் இருந்துள்ளது. அரேபியாவில் வாழ்ந்த மக்கள், வேறெந்த பெயரில் கடவுளை அழைத்திருப்பார்கள்? ஒரு வேளை அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருந்திருந்தால்?
சவூதி அரேபியாவில், ஜுபைல் நகருக்கு கிழக்கே உள்ள பாலைவனத்தில், உலகிலேயே மிகப் பழமையான கிறிஸ்தவ தேவாலயம் உள்ளது. அனேகமாக கி.பி. நான்காம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த அரேபிய கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் வழிபட்ட ஸ்தலமாக இருக்கலாம். இன்று அந்த இடத்திற்கு எந்த ஆராய்ச்சியாளரும் செல்லாதபடி, சுற்றி வர வேலியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. (சவூதி) அரேபிய மக்கள் ஒரு காலத்தில் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருந்த உண்மையை, இன்றைய ஆட்சியாளர்கள் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள். அவர்களைப் பொறுத்த வரை, அரேபிய மக்கள் பல தெய்வ வழிபாட்டில் இருந்து விலகி இஸ்லாமைத் தழுவியவர்கள். மெக்காவிலும், வேறு பல அரேபிய பிரதேசங்களிலும் பல தெய்வ வழிபாடு நிலவியது உண்மை தான். இருப்பினும் அயல் நாடுகளில் கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் வாழ்ந்ததற்கான சரித்திர சான்றுகள் உள்ளன. இன்றைய சிரியா, ஜோர்டான், யேமன், ஓமான் நாட்டு மக்களின் முன்னோர்கள் கிறிஸ்தவர்களாக இருந்தவர்கள்.
அந்த நாடுகளின் மக்கள் ஏதோ ஒரு வகை அரபு மொழியை பேசியவர்கள். அதை வட்டார வழக்கு மொழி எனலாம், அல்லது அரபு போலத் தோன்றும் இன்னொரு மொழி எனலாம். இறைதூதர் முகமது நபிகள் தலைமை தாங்கிய இஸ்லாமியப் படைகளின் வெற்றிக்கு அந்த மக்களின் ஒத்துழைப்பு கிடைத்தது. இதற்கு மொழி ஒற்றுமை ஒரு காரணியாக இருந்திருக்கலாம். அதுவே பின்னர் அந்தப் பிரதேச மக்கள் அனைவரும் இஸ்லாமியராக மாற ஊக்குவித்திருக்கலாம். ஒரு முக்கிய காரணம் மட்டும் இஸ்லாமியரின் வரலாற்று நூலில் பதியப் பட்டுள்ளது. முஸ்லிம்கள் அல்லாதோர் அதிக வரி செலுத்த வேண்டியிருந்தது. இந்த வரிச் சுமை காரணமாகவே பலர் இஸ்லாமிய மதத்தை தழுவிக் கொண்டனர். அந்த வரி அறவிடும் முறை இன்றும் மலேசியாவில் பின்பற்றப் படுகின்றது. மலேசியாவில் கிறிஸ்தவர்களும், இந்துக்களும், பௌத்தர்களும் பிரத்தியேக வரி கட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். பிற மதத்தவர் கட்டும் வரியைக் கொண்டு, ஏழை மலே முஸ்லிம்களிற்கு சலுகை செய்து கொடுக்கப்படுகின்றது.
பண்டைக் கால அரபு இஸ்லாமியர்கள், கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் மீது அதிக வரி செலுத்திய போதிலும், அவர்களை கட்டாயமாக மதமாற்றம் செய்யவில்லை. கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் தமது மத வழிபாட்டை இடையூறின்றி தொடர முடிந்தது. அதனால் தான் இன்றைக்கும் ஈராக், லெபனான், எகிப்து ஆகிய நாடுகளில் கணிசமான அளவு கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் வாழ்கின்றனர். அந்த நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் அரபு தான் தாய்மொழி. அவர்கள் தாம் கடவுளாக வணங்கும் இயேசுவை எப்படி அழைப்பார்கள்? "அல்லாஹ்" என்றழைக்காமல் வேறு எப்படி அழைப்பது? இத்தாலிக்கு தெற்கே இருக்கும் சிறிய தீவு, மால்ட்டா. அந்த தேசத்து மக்கள் மால்ட்டீஸ் மொழி பேசும் கத்தோலிக்க கிறிஸ்தவர்கள். அவர்கள் தமது பாஷையில் கடவுளை "அல்லா" என்று அழைக்கிறார்கள்.அதற்கு காரணம், மால்ட்டா தேச மக்களின் மூதாதையர், ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் அரபு நாடுகளில் இருந்து வந்து குடியேறியவர்கள். மால்ட்டீஸ் மொழி கிட்டத்தட்ட அரபு மொழி போன்றிருக்கும்.
மலேசியாவில் இன்று அல்லாஹ் என்ற வார்த்தையை வைத்து எழுந்துள்ள சச்சரவு மொழி சார்ந்ததல்ல. அது இனப் பிரச்சினையின் இன்னொரு பரிமாணம். மலேசியாவில் 60 வீதமான மக்கள் மலே மொழி பேசுவோர். (பிரிட்டிஷ் காலத்தில்) வந்தேறுகுடிகளான சீனர்களையும், இந்தியர்களையும் ஒதுக்க நினைத்தாலும், கூடி வாழ வேண்டிய கசப்பான நிலைமை. பின்-காலனித்துவ மலேசியா அரசியல், தவிர்க்கவியலாது மதம், மொழி, இனம் சார்ந்த கலவையாகி விட்டது. இந்த அரசியல் சித்து விளையாட்டுக்குள் "அல்லாஹ்" படும் பாடு, பார்க்க சகிக்கவில்லை. பாவம், அவரை விட்டு விடுங்கள்.

Tamil Nesan, MIC and Samy Velu
In Their Own Pandora
One word sums up it all. Both the party and it’s leader is irrelevant, a word made famous during sodomy 1 trials by Judge, the late Augustine Paul.
MIC and Samy appear to live in their own world. While I know for sure that the GAS movement will not have impact on him, I am baffled that Samy is ignorant of numerous show of disgust by fellow Indians in the country. Only someone with thick skin can endure such abuses and insults throughout the country, not just by Indians but also by other races who are equally baffled that this unwanted leader is still around, helming the party when most of his contemporaries have retired and even some are resting in peace.
What is more baffling is that MIC members, who appear to share the same planet as Samy, still believe in Samy and still thinks MIC is relevant to the Indian community.
When Kamalanathan won the Hulu Selangor parliament seat, it make them big headed and more convinced that MIC is relevant when everyone knows that the Indian votes had hardly returned to BN. It was the Malays who won it for Kamalanathan.
Samy Vellu’s claims of 600,000 membership of MIC are all a sham. MIC branch leaders open branches by getting copies of identity card of Indians all over their area. Branch leaders pay the membership fees and maintain the records to keep their branches active.
Only the old guards, who have benefited directly from Samy Velu are still supporting and worshipping him, perhaps also due to the fact that Samy also means ‘God” .
My estimate is MIC has only about less than 50,000 hardcore supporters or rather Samy cult followers.

Since the emergence of GAS movement, MIC’s family owned paper, Tamil Nesan, went on the offensive with numerous declaration of support for Samy Vellu by various state, divisional and branch chairman, who appear to revere Samy as a king or even god.
Numerous lies are propagated by the newspaper, whose Managing Director is none other than MIC’s prince, Vel Paari. Even on Monday, 31st May, the front page had a huge picture of an almost empty hall in Mines, where the GAS event was held. The report says that hardly 2000 people turned up and most of whom who turned up was Indian Nationals and Indonesians who works for Klang based businessman, Ohms Thiagarajan.
A quick glance at other newspapers in newsstands tells you a completely different story. The hall was full at about 4pm and even one can see a full turnout from the prime time news in TV. Who is Tamil Nesan trying to fool. Tamil Nesan thinks that the Indians are an ignorant lot and will believe what it says. The newspaper is now helmed by a reporter who was jailed before for defaming Samy Vellu. Now this man is using Tamil Nesan to slam Samy’s detractors. How ironic and things change when people develop thick skin like Samy. Maybe money and survival make people work for their one time enemy.
Tamil Nesan also published several sponsored full page advertisements of Birthday wishes for Samy’s wife Indrani. If anyone reads the wishes narrated, one would believe that Indrani is bigger than Queen Elizabeth or Mother Theresa combined. Never before I have seen people sucking up to irrelevant leaders and their wifes in such a way. Indrani has been described as 1st lady, model mother (to Vel Paari, yucks), model woman, holier than thou person etc. It was sickening to read such things when the whole of Malaysia knows that Indrani is nothing but another politician wife.
Tamil Nesan has no worthy news to offer, their front pages are either dedicated to glorifying MIC leaders, Samy or his son Vel Paari, or their partner in crime, youth leader or rather Youth ‘liar’, T.Mohan. Front page are also often dedicated to slam ex-deputy, Dato S. Subramaniam and other critics. It has the lowest circulation amongst Tamil dailies and I believe only hardcore Samy supporters buy the paper.
Other MIC Leaders
I am equally baffled with the silence from other MIC leaders. They should know by now that nobody supports MIC and their leaders. Either they are deaf or dumb enough not to realise this. Their leaders have also not learn their lessons. During the Hulu Selangor by elections, MIC leaders have yet to fulfill many of their promises. Some tried to misappropriate funds given by BN, some gave worthless cheques while some purposely wrote incorrect names in the cheques, causing cheques to be returned. People in Hulu Selangor is more disgusted with MIC now.
This is a one man party and most of those in CWC owe Samy a lot for their current position in the party, therefore most do not want to go against their King. It appears that in their minds, never mind what the Rakyat says, Samy is more important than anything else in their Pandora.
Samy purported successor, Palanivel does not enjoy widespread support and seen as weak. Only Minister Subramaniam enjoy has some respect among Malaysians. Will he speak up and do something. Nobody thinks he will as he owe both Samy and Palanivel for his post now, both in Cabinet and the party.
So nothing is going to change even if Palanivel takes over. Najib should realise that he can’t rely on Samy’s party. In the hindsight, as suggested by T.Mohan, MIC should just leave BN or UMNO should find ways to expel MIC. Only then MIC will realise that they are nobody without BN’s support.

Apart from this record, Samy will be remembered as the who caused Indian community to split. There was no other Indian political party before Samy took over MIC. Now we have almost a dozen of Indian based political parties and hundreds of Indian based NGO, just because MIC is ineffective. All because of his grip on MIC and his inability to face dissent in his own party.

சோதிடக்கலையும் வானவியலும் ஒன்றா?
தமிழும் சோதிடக்கலையும் பிரிக்க இயலாதது. ஏனெனில் இக்கலையை நமக்கு உருவாக்கியவர் குறுமுனி அகத்தியர்தாம். இவரேயாம் தமிழையும் உருவாக்கியதாக பதிவாகியுள்ளது. இச்சோதிடக்கலையைத்தான் நம்மவர்கள் வானவியலோடு ஒப்பிடுகிறார்கள். ஆனால் அதை நிரூபிக்க நாம் எடுத்துக்கொண்ட முயற்சிகள் என்று பார்த்தால் நமக்கு ஏமாற்றமே மிஞ்சுகிறது.
நமது அடுத்த தலைமுறைதான் இந்த குறையை தீர்த்து வைக்க வேண்டும். எனது இந்த மனக்குறையை ஆதாரங்களோடு விளக்குகிறேன். சோதிடம் தோன்றிய காலம் எது என்று இன்று வரை யாராலும் அறுதியிட்டு கூற இயலவில்லை. ஆனால் வானவியலில் சந்திரன் புவியை சுற்றுவதற்கு எவ்வளவு நாள்கள் எடுத்து கொள்கிறது என்று எப்போது கண்டு பிடித்தார்கள் என்று கூற இயலும்.
இப்போது நாம் இந்த தலைப்பை அலசுவோம்.
வானமண்டலத்தில் இருக்கும் விண்மீண்களை (நட்சத்திரங்களை) 12 தொகுப்புகளாக பிரித்திருக்கிறார்கள். வானமண்டலம் மொத்தம் 360 பாகை என்றால் ஒவ்வொரு தொகுப்பும் 30 பாகை. இப்படி பட்ட ஒவ்வொரு 30 பாகையையும் ஒரு வீடு என்று ஜோதிடத்தில் அழைக்கிறார்கள்
பூமியில் இருந்து பார்க்கும் போது ஒரு கிரகத்தின் பிண்ணனியில் எந்த நட்சத்திர கூட்டம் தெரிகிறதோ அதுவே அந்த கிரகம் இருக்கும் வீடு என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

சந்திரன் பூமியை ஒரு முறை சுற்றி வர எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் காலம் சுமார் ஒரு மாதம்.
இன்று பூமியில் இருந்த பார்த்தால் சந்திரனின் பின்னால் ஒரு நட்சத்திர கூட்டம் தெரியும். மூன்று நாட்கள் கழித்து பார்த்தால் அடுத்த நட்சத்திர கூட்டம், அதன் பிறகு மூன்று நாட்கள் கழித்தால் அதற்கு அடுத்த நட்சத்திர கூட்டம். சந்திரனுக்கு பின்னால் எந்த நட்சத்திர கூட்டம் தெரிகிறதோ சந்திரன் அந்த வீட்டில் இருப்பதாக கூறுவார்கள்.
இப்போது அறிவியலை பார்க்கலாம். சந்திரன் புவியை சுற்றுவதற்கு 27.3 நாள்கள் எடுத்துக்கொள்கிறது. எனவே அது ஒரு நாளைக்கு 13.2 பாகை திரும்புகிறது. இது எவ்வாறெனில் ஒரு முழு வட்டத்தின் அளவு 360 பாகை. சந்திரன் ஒரு வட்டப்பாதையில் நம் புவியை சுற்றி வருகிறது. எனவே 360/27.3=13.2 பாகையாம்.
ஆகவே சந்திரன் புவியை சுற்றி வரும் வட்டத்தின் அளவு 360 பாகை மற்றும் அது ஒரு மாதம் என்று சோதிடத்திலும் 27.3 நாள்கள் என்று அறிவியலிலும் கூறுகிறார்கள். இது ஒரு சிறிய அளவு வித்தியாசமே.
ஒரு நுண்நோக்கியும் இல்லாமல் நம்மவர்கள் இந்த அளவு வானவியலை தெரிந்து வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்று நினைக்கையில் வியப்பே மேலிடுகிறது. நம் குழந்தைகளாவது வாய் பிளந்து பார்த்துக்கொண்டிராமல் அதை ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து ஏதேனும் கண்டு பிடிக்கும் நிலையில் இருக்க வேண்டுமென என் உளம் நினைக்கிறது.

THREE Malaysian will attend entrepreneurs summit
THREE Malaysian entrepreneurs will attend a two-day Presidental Summit on Entrepreneurship that will be held in Washington in the US starting April 26.
They are Warisan Global Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dhakshinamoorty “Dash” Balakrishnan, Nadicorp Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh and Free Malaysia Today news portal editor-in-chief K. Kabilan.
In a statement released in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the US Embassy said the summit is hosted by US President Barack Obama together with the US Department of State and the US Department of Commerce.
Meanwhile, Dhakshinamoorty told Business Times yesterday that it is a great opportunity for Malaysia to be selected to attend the summit.
“From my understanding, this is the first summit of its kind and being hosted by a sitting US President,” he said.
He said the summit is expected to give a new paradigm to entrepreneurs worldwide and provide a new platform for global entrepreneurs to interact among each other.
Dhakshinamoorty said upon return from the summit, he plans to conduct roadshows and spread the knowledge gained from the event with other entrepreneurs especially start-ups.
The summit will be used to identify how the US can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and entrepreneurs in the US and Muslim communities around the world.
It will also highlight successful entrepreneurs and identify opportunities to build and strengthen economic and social entrepreneurship ecosystems.
Among key issues and challenges to entrepreneurs that will be discussed are technology and innovation, access to capital, unleashing women and youth entrepreneurship, mentoring and networking, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.
On the selection of attendees for the summit, Dhakshinamoorty said a portal was set up by the US government in November last year where entrepreneurs around the world nominate themselves. Only 250 people were selected.
Participants from over 50 countries in five continents have been invited to participate in the summit that will highlight the role entrepreneurship can play in addressing common challenges, while building partnerships that will lead to greater opportunity abroad and at home.

ஜனநாயகத்தின் நான்காவது தூணாக ஊடகங்களை குறிப்பிடுவர்... அரசு எப்போது எல்லாம் தவறு இழைக்கின்றதோ அப்போது எல்லாம் அதை தட்டிக் கேட்கும் தார்மீக கடமை இந்த ஊடகங்களுக்கு இருக்கின்றது. தமிழகத்தின் இன்றைய ஊடகங்கள் அவ்வாறு இருக்கின்றனவா என கேள்வி எழுப்பினால் மவுனமே நமக்கு பதிலாக கிடைக்கிறது.

Will Uthaya's party enter the fray?

KUALA LUMPUR: In Bangsar, a David is contemplating on doing battle with not one, but two Goliaths in the upcoming by-election for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat.
A political underdog it might be, but the wise often say that it is not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, but rather the size of the fight in the dog.
And the forces behind the Human Rights Party (HRP) have proven in the past that they can deliver one heck of a bite, at least as far as Indian votes are concerned.
Contacted this afternoon, HRP secretary-general P Uthayakumar said the central committee will hold a meeting at the party headquarters in Bangsar Utama here this Sunday to discuss this issue.
When pressed further, the HRP leader refused to divulge more details.
“I am just the secretary-general. I work for the party. It is the central committee which must decide on this issue. It has to be a collective decision,” he said.
Uthayakumar also refused to speculate on whether the yet-to-be registered HRP will create a significant impact should it decide to field a candidate.
“It's too early to say anything. We cannot speculate now. Let's wait for Sunday and see what happens,” he said.
Uthayakumar, a lawyer by profession, was among the five Hindraf leaders responsible for the November 2007 mammoth protest in Kuala Lumpur which drew tens of thousands of Indian Malaysians to the streets.
The epochal protest was described as the “political awakening” of the community and saw the traditional supporters of Barisan Nasional casting their ballots for the opposition in the 2008 general election.
A month after the protest, Uthayakumar and the other four were detained under the Internal Security Act, and were heralded as heroes by the Indian community, especially those of the working class.
The five were freed after Najib Tun Razak became prime minister in April 2009.
Gauge the support
Meanwhile, political obeservers feel that HRP should contest in the by-election to gauge its support among the masses, especially the Indian community.
“Since they were released from ISA, Hindraf has become fragmented, with the leaders accusing each other of corruption and so forth.
“So by fielding a candiate, HRP will know how much this fallout has affected the popularity of Hindraf, especially Uthayakumar,” said one observer.
Furthermore, he said HRP's entry will also give voters, who are fed up with Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat, a third option.
Whatever the case, the observer noted that if HRP decides to contest, it will definitely pose problems for both BN and Pakatan.
On numerous occasions, Uthayakumar has lambasted the Pakatan leadership as not being any different from BN leaders in turning a blind eye to the woes of the Indian community.
The Hulu Selangor seat fell vacant following the death of the PKR incumbent Zainal Abidin Ahmad last night.
In the 2008 general election, Zainal Abidin won the Malay-majority seat after defeating MIC deputy president G Palanivel, who was the MP since 1990, with a wafer-thin majority of 198 votes.
MIC has already proposed Palanivel's name for the by-election while PKR has yet to name its candidate.

Most women take sexual rejection very personally, especially if their sense of self-worth is linked to love and acceptance from their partner.
When a sexual advance by a woman is turned down by her man, she views herself as being an inadequate lover. She believes that her ‘lovability’ is defined by the affection she receives from her partner.

The current trend of sexless marriages, due to lowered self-esteem of men facing a financial crisis and resultant stress, is leading to varied reactions in women. Some working women who’re aware of the global crisis, show greater empathy and do not blame their partner for the financial situation, or the subsequent lack of interest in sex. Instead, they assume the role of a sounding board, and also attempt to motivate them to be optimistic and deal with the crisis ‘together’.
On the other hand, some women add to their husbands’ woes by being demanding, aggressive and blaming them for the loss of both, ‘money and sex’ and launch a direct attack on their partner’s manhood. This only makes matters worse. The woman, who has shoved a guilt-trip down her husband’s throat, can be rest assured that the financial crises may end, but her sex life will never improve.
Women need to understand is that it’s a healthy and relaxed mind that’s important for mutually satisfying physical intimacy.
Self-worth factor
Some women get confused by the sudden withdrawal of sex, get depressed and might suspect that their husband is having an extra-marital affair. Such anxious women must de-link affection and physical intimacy, and be educated about ‘temporary psychological impotence’ stemming from increased stress.
In some cases, over-consumption of alcohol can be a problem, especially with those who try to deal with stress via alcohol. This takes a huge toll on the relationship, as the woman finds it difficult to empathise with a husband who gets drunk every night, whines about problems, and doesn’t wish to address the crisis in a logical manner.
In such a condition, marriage counselling helps the couple understand each other’s emotional needs. Also, stress counselling helps the man deal with the financial and sexual lull in life.
A man can be taught to reach out and be sensitive to his wife’s needs, and the woman can be educated to not make it all about herself, be ‘emotionally available’ and not use the husband’s vulnerability against him.
The two must remember that this a temporary phase and how they handle it decides the future of the relationship. Moreover, the ‘emotional intimacy’ during this time can strengthen their relationship, and there can be some surprising moments of physical intimacy, emerging from such emotional bonding.
Coping with it
A wife could use these troubled times to build emotional intimacy and companionship, educate herself about the finer details of her man’s problem and engage him in the small joys of life, such as sharing the child’s achievements in school.
She could engage in non-sexual touching like a back rub or head massage to bond.
She shouldn’t mind her husband wanting to spend time with his colleagues who enlighten him on ways to deal with the problem, and tell him he’s not alone.
Tell him that both of you will get through it ‘together’, and that you believe in him.Ensure that he doesn’t blame himself. Help him accept uncertainties and forgive himself for human errors, if any.She can help de-stigmatise seeking professional help. If he is depressed, accompany him to a counsellor.She could identify what brings him joy. Small things such as cooking his favourite meal can help him.
At times, she could take the lead, touch him sensually, with no pressure to perform, and see if he wants to take it forward.The woman, of course, has her own emotional and physical needs. She could channelise her libido into work or creative pursuits.

பரமஹம்ச நித்தியானந்தாவின் படுக்கை அறை சல்லாபம்: அதிர்ச்சியில் உறைந்து போயிருக்கிறது ஆன்மீக உலகம்

பிரமச்சரியத்தின் மறு அவதாரம் என்று தன்னைப் பற்றி கூறி தன்னுடைய வசீகரமான பேச்சால் மக்களை தன்பக்கம் ஈர்த்து புதிய சாதனை செய்தவர் பரமஹம்ச நித்தியானந்த சாமியார். இவருக்கு வயது 32 தான். ஆனால், இவரின் பேச்சும் நடவடிக்கையும் 92 வயது மகான்களைப் போல் இருக்கும்.
ஆரம்பத்தில் சாதாரணமாக இருந்த சாமியாருக்கு திடீர் என்று அதிர்ஷ்டம் அடித்தது குமுதம் பத்திரிகை மூலம்தான். குமுதம் தமிழ் நாட்டில் உச்ச விற்பனையில் இருக்கும் வார இதழ். இதில் சாமியாரின் அருளுரைகளும் அட்டகாசமான புன்னகை கொண்ட படங்களும் வெளியாகின. அதன் பின்னர் சாமியாரின் புகழ் பட்டி தொட்டியெல்லாம் பரவியது.
பணக்கார வர்க்கத்தினர், குறிப்பாக பெண்கள் சாமியாரின் ஆசிரமத்தை நோக்கி சாரை சாரையாக படையெடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தனர். இந்த இளமைச் சாமியாருக்கு மேலும் இனிமை சேர்த்தது அவரின் நுனி நாக்கு ஆங்கிலம்.
அதனால் பெண்களிடம் தாறுமாறாக அவரின் ஈர்ப்பு அதிகரித்துவிட்டது. பல இடங்களில் ஆசிரமங்கள் முளைக்கத் தொடங்கின. நான்கு திசைகளில் இருந்தும் பணம் இவரின் ஆசிரமத்தை நோக்கி ஆறாகப் பாய்ந்து வந்தது.
இவரின் சிறப்பு அம்சம் சின்ன வயதிலேயே தீட்சை பெற்று பிரமச்சரியத்தை கடைப்பிடிக்கத் தொடங்கியதுதான். பிரமச்சரியம் என்றால் பார்த்தல், கேட்டல், தொடுதல், நுகர்தல், சுவைத்தல் என ஐந்து விதமான புலன்களை அடக்கி ஆள்வது. எந்தக் காரணத்தைக் கொண்டும் ஆண்மையை வெளிப்படுத்தாமல் கட்டிக் காப்பது.
சின்ன வயது சாமியாரின் பெரிய விரதத்தை பார்த்து அசந்துபோன படித்தவர்களும் பாமரர்களும் இவரை வாழும் கடவுளாகவே வணங்கி வழிபட ஆரம்பித்தனர். இவரின் முகத்தைப் பார்ப்பதே மோட்சம் என மயங்கிப் போனார்கள்.
இவரின் பிரமச்சரிய பிரமிப்பு வேலைகளை சன் தொலைக்காட்சியில் வந்த ஒரு சரசக் காட்சி சின்னாபின்னமாக்கி விட்டது. குண்டலினி சக்தியை எழுப்பி மக்களின் பாவங்களைப் போக்க வந்த பரமஹம்ச நித்தியானந்த சாமியார் படுக்கையில் பரமானந்தமாக படுத்திருக்க ஒரு பெண் சர்வ சுதந்திரமாக அவருக்கு பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து அப்படியே நித்தியானந்தா உடம்பின் மீது படுக்கிறார்.
நித்தியானந்தாவும் சளைக்கவில்லை. அவருடைய பங்குக்கு காலைத்தூக்கிப் போட்டு கட்டி அணைக்கிறார். இந்தக் காட்சி வெளியாகி தமிழகத்தை மட்டுமல்ல உலகத்தில் வாழுகின்ற தமிழர்களையும் சாமியாரின் பக்தர்களையும் அதிர்ச்சியில் உறைய வைத்திருக்கிறது.
இந்த ஆபாசக் காட்சியை அப்படியே ஒளிபரப்ப முடியாது என்பதால் மோசமான காட்சிகளை நீக்கி விட்டுத்தான் ஒளிபரப்பு செய்யப்பட்டதாக சொல்லப்பட்டது. அப்படியானால் மறைக்கப்பட்ட காட்சியில் அரங்கேறி இருக்கும் அசிங்கம் எவ்வளவு கேவலமானது என்பதைப் பொது மக்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

17 வயதில் வீட்டை விட்டுக் கிளம்பினாராம் நித்தி. இவர் வீட்டை விட்டு போகும் போது இவரின் தாயார் இவரைத் தடுக்க வில்லையாம். எப்படி இருந்தாலும் வீட்டை விட்டு போகப்போகிறாய் என்று சொல்லி கண்ணீரோடு அனுப்பி வைத்தாராம்.9 வருடங்கள் உலகத்தை சுற்றி வந்திருக்கிறார். பல மகான்களைப் பார்த்து ஞானம் அடைந்து இருக்கிறார். அதன் பின்னர் 26 வயதில் உலக மக்களுக்கு உபதேசம் பண்ண ஆரம்பித்து இருக்கிறார்.

PM’s aide to resign over alleged racist remarks
PETALING JAYA: Datuk Nasir Safar, special officer to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, will resign over allegedly racist statements he made, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement Tuesday.
“The remarks allegedly made by Nasir in Malacca today do not in any way reflect the views of the Prime Minister,” the statement said.
“Nasir never intended to make any derogatory remarks. He spoke at length on the contributions made by all races in developing the country.
“Nevertheless, Nasir apologises for any offence caused ... and in light of this, will tender his resignation.”
Online portals earlier reported that Nasir’s remarks at a 1Malaysia seminar at the Malacca International Trade Centre were so offensive that MIC and MCA members in attendance walked out in protest.
He was reported to have said that Chinese and Indian Malaysians were mere “pendatangs” (immigrants) and that Chinese women came to Malaysia to indulge in the “flesh trade.”
Nasir first denied the reports, saying he was just talking about the country’s history.
“I did not say the word ‘pendatang.’ I only said the country has been successful as the Chinese and the Indians from those days until today have been coming here to work,” he told The Malaysian Insider.
He also dismissed claims that he had threatened to revoke the citizenships of non-Malays who demanded that their rights be respected, the portal reported.
MIC and MCA leaders had threatened to lodge police reports over the incident.

Nasir denied the claims, saying he was just talking about the country's history but the allegation comes at a time when Najib has been working hard to win over the support of non-Malays amid the “Allah” row, which saw attacks on places of worship across the country. It also showed that, despite his intentions, his aides and political operatives have still not embraced his 1 Malaysia concept to bring unity and progress to the country.
“I did not say the word ‘pendatang (immigrant)’. I only said the country has been successful as the Chinese and the Indians from those days until today have been coming here to work,” Nasir told The Malaysian Insider in a telephone interview.
He also dismissed claims that he had threatened to revoke the citizenships of non-Malays who demanded that their rights be respected.
“I did not threaten anyone, and I have never intended to do that. You know I’m very close to MIC people. I only said it is not good for any community to make so much demands as other communities will retaliate,” Nasir added.
The Malaysian Insider understands that several MCA and MIC leaders walked out of the meeting at the Malacca International Trade Centre after Nasir made the alleged remarks.
The MIC Youth is also planning to lodge a police report against Nasir.
Nasir added he also did not ridicule other languages but only defended the supremacy of the Malay language: “I said Malay language is the national language, there should only be one national language.”
His defence was, however, disputed by those present at the seminar.
An Alor Gajah MIC member, who only wished to be known as Maniam, said he heard clearly Nasir’s threat to revoke citizenships, before he joined others to leave the meeting. “I also heard he said when Umno is facing problems MCA, MIC and Gerakan do not seem concerned,” he told The Malaysian Insider by telephone.
Sources said Nasir also remarked that "Indians in Malaysia have crossed the line. They force the government for 12 subjects in SPM. Don't force the government. We can anytime revoke the citizenship of the Indians in Malaysia."
The senior aide also allegedly said "Indians came to Malaysia as beggars and Chinese especially the women came to sell their bodies", touching off the furore and leading to the walkout.
Another local MIC member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, also said he heard Nasir use the word “pendatang”. “He said it was Umno who drafted the (federal) constitution and other parties were not involved,” he said.
He added that they confronted Nasir during tea break but the latter defended himself by saying he was only referring to Hindraf leaders.
The outlawed Hindraf group, which brought 30,000 Indians to the streets in November 2007, have persistently charged Umno with sidelining the community.
Malaccca Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders are also planning to handover a memorandum to Najib when the coalition chairman visits Malacca this Thursday.
Meanwhile, MIC president Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu has condemned Nasir’s remark and called for action to be taken under the Sedition Act.
“Although the remark does not reflect the government’s or the prime minister’s stand, but it has hurt the feelings of the Malaysian Indian community,” he said.
“MIC condemns the colonial attitude of this person for degrading the Malaysian Indians and we demand that this person be punished under the Sedition Act, and MIC will lodge a police report against this person. If it is proven that this person has uttered [the] seditious remark, action must be taken against him,” Samy told The Malaysian Insider.
DAP leader Lim Kit Siang challenged members of the Najib administration to raise the matter at tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting.
“Will ministers put Nasir Safar on the mat at Cabinet meeting tomorow? Najib’s 1 Malaysia getting very torn and tattered,” he wrote in his @limkitsiang twitter microblogging account.
