THREE Malaysian will attend entrepreneurs summit

THREE Malaysian entrepreneurs will attend a two-day Presidental Summit on Entrepreneurship that will be held in Washington in the US starting April 26.

They are Warisan Global Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Dhakshinamoorty “Dash” Balakrishnan, Nadicorp Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh and Free Malaysia Today news portal editor-in-chief K. Kabilan.

In a statement released in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, the US Embassy said the summit is hosted by US President Barack Obama together with the US Department of State and the US Department of Commerce.

Meanwhile, Dhakshinamoorty told Business Times yesterday that it is a great opportunity for Malaysia to be selected to attend the summit.
“From my understanding, this is the first summit of its kind and being hosted by a sitting US President,” he said.

He said the summit is expected to give a new paradigm to entrepreneurs worldwide and provide a new platform for global entrepreneurs to interact among each other.

Dhakshinamoorty said upon return from the summit, he plans to conduct roadshows and spread the knowledge gained from the event with other entrepreneurs especially start-ups.

The summit will be used to identify how the US can deepen ties between business leaders, foundations, and entrepreneurs in the US and Muslim communities around the world.

It will also highlight successful entrepreneurs and identify opportunities to build and strengthen economic and social entrepreneurship ecosystems.

Among key issues and challenges to entrepreneurs that will be discussed are technology and innovation, access to capital, unleashing women and youth entrepreneurship, mentoring and networking, and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.

On the selection of attendees for the summit, Dhakshinamoorty said a portal was set up by the US government in November last year where entrepreneurs around the world nominate themselves. Only 250 people were selected.

Participants from over 50 countries in five continents have been invited to participate in the summit that will highlight the role entrepreneurship can play in addressing common challenges, while building partnerships that will lead to greater opportunity abroad and at home.

Will Uthaya's party enter the fray?

KUALA LUMPUR: In Bangsar, a David is contemplating on doing battle with not one, but two Goliaths in the upcoming by-election for the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat.

A political underdog it might be, but the wise often say that it is not the size of the dog in the fight that matters, but rather the size of the fight in the dog.

And the forces behind the Human Rights Party (HRP) have proven in the past that they can deliver one heck of a bite, at least as far as Indian votes are concerned.

Contacted this afternoon, HRP secretary-general P Uthayakumar said the central committee will hold a meeting at the party headquarters in Bangsar Utama here this Sunday to discuss this issue.

When pressed further, the HRP leader refused to divulge more details.

“I am just the secretary-general. I work for the party. It is the central committee which must decide on this issue. It has to be a collective decision,” he said.

Uthayakumar also refused to speculate on whether the yet-to-be registered HRP will create a significant impact should it decide to field a candidate.

“It's too early to say anything. We cannot speculate now. Let's wait for Sunday and see what happens,” he said.

Uthayakumar, a lawyer by profession, was among the five Hindraf leaders responsible for the November 2007 mammoth protest in Kuala Lumpur which drew tens of thousands of Indian Malaysians to the streets.

The epochal protest was described as the “political awakening” of the community and saw the traditional supporters of Barisan Nasional casting their ballots for the opposition in the 2008 general election.

A month after the protest, Uthayakumar and the other four were detained under the Internal Security Act, and were heralded as heroes by the Indian community, especially those of the working class.

The five were freed after Najib Tun Razak became prime minister in April 2009.

Gauge the support

Meanwhile, political obeservers feel that HRP should contest in the by-election to gauge its support among the masses, especially the Indian community.

“Since they were released from ISA, Hindraf has become fragmented, with the leaders accusing each other of corruption and so forth.

“So by fielding a candiate, HRP will know how much this fallout has affected the popularity of Hindraf, especially Uthayakumar,” said one observer.

Furthermore, he said HRP's entry will also give voters, who are fed up with Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat, a third option.

Whatever the case, the observer noted that if HRP decides to contest, it will definitely pose problems for both BN and Pakatan.

On numerous occasions, Uthayakumar has lambasted the Pakatan leadership as not being any different from BN leaders in turning a blind eye to the woes of the Indian community.

The Hulu Selangor seat fell vacant following the death of the PKR incumbent Zainal Abidin Ahmad last night.

In the 2008 general election, Zainal Abidin won the Malay-majority seat after defeating MIC deputy president G Palanivel, who was the MP since 1990, with a wafer-thin majority of 198 votes.

MIC has already proposed Palanivel's name for the by-election while PKR has yet to name its candidate.

Some women get confused by the sudden withdrawal of sex, get depressed and might suspect that their husband is having an extra-marital affair. Such anxious women must de-link affection and physical intimacy, and be educated about ‘temporary psychological impotence’ stemming from increased stress.

In some cases, over-consumption of alcohol can be a problem, especially with those who try to deal with stress via alcohol. A man can be taught to reach out and be sensitive to his wife’s needs, and the woman can be educated to not make it all about herself, be ‘emotionally available’ and not use the husband’s vulnerability against him.

The two must remember that this a temporary phase and how they handle it decides the future of the relationship. Moreover, the ‘emotional intimacy’ during this time can strengthen their relationship, and there can be some surprising moments of physical intimacy, emerging from such emotional bonding.

A wife could use these troubled times to build emotional intimacy and companionship, educate herself about the finer details of her man’s problem and engage him in the small joys of life, such as sharing the child’s achievements in school.

She could engage in non-sexual touching like a back rub or head massage to bond.
She shouldn’t mind her husband wanting to spend time with his colleagues who enlighten him on ways to deal with the problem, and tell him he’s not alone.

Tell him that both of you will get through it ‘together’, and that you believe in him.Ensure that he doesn’t blame himself. Help him accept uncertainties and forgive himself for human errors, if any.She can help de-stigmatise seeking professional help. If he is depressed, accompany him to a counsellor.She could identify what brings him joy. Small things such as cooking his favourite meal can help him.
At times, she could take the lead, touch him sensually, with no pressure to perform, and see if he wants to take it forward.The woman, of course, has her own emotional and physical needs. She could channelise her libido into work or creative pursuits.

பிரமச்சரியத்தின் மறு அவதாரம் என்று தன்னைப் பற்றி கூறி தன்னுடைய வசீகரமான பேச்சால் மக்களை தன்பக்கம் ஈர்த்து புதிய சாதனை செய்தவர் பரமஹம்ச நித்தியானந்த சாமியார். இவருக்கு வயது 32 தான். ஆனால், இவரின் பேச்சும் நடவடிக்கையும் 92 வயது மகான்களைப் போல் இருக்கும்.

ஆரம்பத்தில் சாதாரணமாக இருந்த சாமியாருக்கு திடீர் என்று அதிர்ஷ்டம் அடித்தது குமுதம் பத்திரிகை மூலம்தான். குமுதம் தமிழ் நாட்டில் உச்ச விற்பனையில் இருக்கும் வார இதழ். இதில் சாமியாரின் அருளுரைகளும் அட்டகாசமான புன்னகை கொண்ட படங்களும் வெளியாகின. அதன் பின்னர் சாமியாரின் புகழ் பட்டி தொட்டியெல்லாம் பரவியது.

பணக்கார வர்க்கத்தினர், குறிப்பாக பெண்கள் சாமியாரின் ஆசிரமத்தை நோக்கி சாரை சாரையாக படையெடுக்க ஆரம்பித்தனர். இந்த இளமைச் சாமியாருக்கு மேலும் இனிமை சேர்த்தது அவரின் நுனி நாக்கு ஆங்கிலம்.

அதனால் பெண்களிடம் தாறுமாறாக அவரின் ஈர்ப்பு அதிகரித்துவிட்டது. பல இடங்களில் ஆசிரமங்கள் முளைக்கத் தொடங்கின. நான்கு திசைகளில் இருந்தும் பணம் இவரின் ஆசிரமத்தை நோக்கி ஆறாகப் பாய்ந்து வந்தது.

இவரின் சிறப்பு அம்சம் சின்ன வயதிலேயே தீட்சை பெற்று பிரமச்சரியத்தை கடைப்பிடிக்கத் தொடங்கியதுதான். பிரமச்சரியம் என்றால் பார்த்தல், கேட்டல், தொடுதல், நுகர்தல், சுவைத்தல் என ஐந்து விதமான புலன்களை அடக்கி ஆள்வது. எந்தக் காரணத்தைக் கொண்டும் ஆண்மையை வெளிப்படுத்தாமல் கட்டிக் காப்பது.

சின்ன வயது சாமியாரின் பெரிய விரதத்தை பார்த்து அசந்துபோன படித்தவர்களும் பாமரர்களும் இவரை வாழும் கடவுளாகவே வணங்கி வழிபட ஆரம்பித்தனர். இவரின் முகத்தைப் பார்ப்பதே மோட்சம் என மயங்கிப் போனார்கள்.

இவரின் பிரமச்சரிய பிரமிப்பு வேலைகளை சன் தொலைக்காட்சியில் வந்த ஒரு சரசக் காட்சி சின்னாபின்னமாக்கி விட்டது. குண்டலினி சக்தியை எழுப்பி மக்களின் பாவங்களைப் போக்க வந்த பரமஹம்ச நித்தியானந்த சாமியார் படுக்கையில் பரமானந்தமாக படுத்திருக்க ஒரு பெண் சர்வ சுதந்திரமாக அவருக்கு பக்கத்தில் உட்கார்ந்து அப்படியே நித்தியானந்தா உடம்பின் மீது படுக்கிறார்.

நித்தியானந்தாவும் சளைக்கவில்லை. அவருடைய பங்குக்கு காலைத்தூக்கிப் போட்டு கட்டி அணைக்கிறார். இந்தக் காட்சி வெளியாகி தமிழகத்தை மட்டுமல்ல உலகத்தில் வாழுகின்ற தமிழர்களையும் சாமியாரின் பக்தர்களையும் அதிர்ச்சியில் உறைய வைத்திருக்கிறது.

இந்த ஆபாசக் காட்சியை அப்படியே ஒளிபரப்ப முடியாது என்பதால் மோசமான காட்சிகளை நீக்கி விட்டுத்தான் ஒளிபரப்பு செய்யப்பட்டதாக சொல்லப்பட்டது. அப்படியானால் மறைக்கப்பட்ட காட்சியில் அரங்கேறி இருக்கும் அசிங்கம் எவ்வளவு கேவலமானது என்பதைப் பொது மக்கள் புரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

சாமியாரோடு சரச சல்லாப லீலையில் ஈடுபட்டிருப்பது ரஞ்சிதா என்ற நடிகை என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இவர் பாரதிராஜாவால் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்ட R வரிசை நடிகைகளில் ஒருவர். நாடோ டித் தென்றல் என்ற படத்தில் கார்த்திக்குடன் நடித்தவர்.

இவரும் நித்தியானந்தாவும் இணைந்திருக்கும் காட்சியைப் பார்க்கும்போது இந்த சரசம் நீண்ட நாட்களாக நடந்து வருகிறது என்பதை காட்டுகிறது. மேலும் கேமராவில் சிக்கியது ரஞ்சிதா மட்டும்தான் இவரைப் போல பல பெண்கள் இவரின் படுக்கை அறையை அலங்கரித்திருப்பதாக இவரின் ஆசிரமம் இருக்கும் பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த மக்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.

நித்தியானந்தாவின் படுக்கை அறை நிகழ்ச்சி திரைப்படத்துறையினருக்கும் சிக்கலை உண்டு பண்ணி இருப்பதாக சொல்லப்படுகிறது. நடிகை புவனேஸ்வரி விபச்சார வழக்கில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டபோது அவரோடு சேர்த்து இன்னும் சில நடிகைகளின் பெயரை தினமலர் பத்திரிகை வெளியிட்டது.

இதற்கு திரையுலகமே திரண்டு வந்து கண்டனக் கூட்டம் நடத்தியது. நடிகர் விவேக் பத்திரிகையாளர்களின் வீட்டுப் பெண்கள் எல்லாம் பத்தினிகளா என்று ஆவேசமாக பேசினார்.

இது மாதிரியான ஜாதகத்தை என் அனுபவத்தில் இதுவரை பார்த்ததில்லை. அப்படி ஒரு அபூர்வ ஜாதகம். இவன் ஒழுங்கத்தின் பிரதிபிம்பமாக திகழ்ந்து பிரமச்சரியத்தை கடைப்பிடித்து உலகுக்கே வழிகாட்டப் போகிற மகான். இவன் எதிர்காலத்தில் ராஜ சன்னியாசியாக விளங்கப் போகிறான்.
இந்த ஜாதகம் தான் என்னுடைய கடைசிக் கணிப்பு. இனிமேல் எந்த ஜாதகத்தையும் பார்க்க மாட்டேன் என்று கூறிவிட்டாராம். அதன் பின்னர் 21 நாட்கள் கழித்து அந்த ஜோதிடர் மரணமடைந்து விட்டாராம்.

17 வயதில் வீட்டை விட்டுக் கிளம்பினாராம் நித்தி. இவர் வீட்டை விட்டு போகும் போது இவரின் தாயார் இவரைத் தடுக்க வில்லையாம். எப்படி இருந்தாலும் வீட்டை விட்டு போகப்போகிறாய் என்று சொல்லி கண்ணீரோடு அனுப்பி வைத்தாராம்.9 வருடங்கள் உலகத்தை சுற்றி வந்திருக்கிறார். பல மகான்களைப் பார்த்து ஞானம் அடைந்து இருக்கிறார். அதன் பின்னர் 26 வயதில் உலக மக்களுக்கு உபதேசம் பண்ண ஆரம்பித்து இருக்கிறார்.

இது அமெரிக்காவில் நித்தியானந்தா அளித்த பேட்டி. அமெரிக்க பெண்ணின் கேள்விக்கு இவ்வாறு பதில் கூறியிருக்கிறார். இவருக்கு தமிழ், ஆங்கிலம் தவிர இன்னும் சில மொழிகளில் பேசும் ஆற்றல் இருக்கிறதாம். இவரிடம் இருக்கும் இளமையையும் மொழிப் புலமையியும் வைத்து ஏராளமான பெண்பக்தர்களை வேட்டையாடி இருப்பார் என்று ஏற்கனவே இவரின் திருவிளையாடல் குறித்து அரசல் புரசலாக செய்தி கசிய விட்டவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்களாம்.
